LSART PPP Liaison Job Description
 
 
  • Be available during pre-storm evacuations to travel to one of the lower 12 parishes, providing your own transportation.
  • Prepare to deploy to assigned Parish Pick-Up Point at the appointed time, before H-60 and remain until truck(s)  have completed loading and have departed.
  • Know the LSART PPP SOP (in the lsart Manual).
  • Be familiar with the current forms for Parish Pick-Up Point Registrations (lsart Manual).
    Complete FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700.
  • Understand that the LSART Liaison / Team is a resource to provide assistance and guidance to the Parish authority.  The Parish Animal Evacuation Team Leader has the final authority.
  • Be available to the PAETL for support and advice.
  • Assist where needed while maintaining knowledge and awareness of all PPP activities.
  • Greet evacuees in a friendly and helpful manner, understanding that many will be frightened and stressed and concerned for their pets.  Maintain calm demeanor and help keep stress level down.
  • Communicate problems and PPP status to ESF-11 and LSART Leadership.
  • Confirm that pet loading is done properly, all crate latches are secure, that there are no special needs animals on truck, and that all animals have access to water before truck door is closed.
  • Confirm with truck driver that temperature is satisfactory, that temperature control monitors are functioning and that 2 copies of truck manifest are in his possession.
